I know you’re all itching to finish this cutie so let’s get started. Today we’ll need a 3.75mm (F) hook, 4.25mm (G) hook, and worsted yarn in the colors blue, burgundy, yellow, and beige. The bandanna is first. Remember, DCInc means to do a double crochet increase. Or in other words, double crochet twice in the same stitch.
Bandanna – In Blue using 4.25 mm (G) Hook
R1: Ch 2 in MR (Does count as a stitch), 3 Dc in MR (4) Pull ring tight.
R2: Ch 2 and turn, Dc in same St, DCInc, Ch 1, DCInc, DCInc (8 Stitches not including Ch)
R3: Ch 2 and turn, Dc in same St, 3 Dc, [DCInc, Ch 1, DCInc, all in the ch space of the previous row], 3 Dc, DCInc (14)
R4: Ch 2 and turn, Dc in same St, 6 Dc [DCInc, Ch 1, DCInc, all in the ch space of the previous row], 6 Dc, DCInc (20)
R5: Ch 2 and turn, Dc in same St, 9 Dc [DCInc, Ch 1, DCInc, all in the ch space of the previous row], 9 Dc, DCInc (26)
R6: Ch 2 and turn, Dc in same St, 12 Dc, [DCInc, Ch 1, Inc, all in the ch space of the previous row], 12 Dc, DCInc (32)
FO and leave a tail.
Now we’ll make two arms.
Arms (Make 2) – Starting with Beige using 3.75mm (F) Hook
R1: 6 Sc in MR (6)
R2: *Inc* (12)
R3: *Sc, Inc* (18)
R4: *2 Sc, Inc* (24)
R5-7: *Sc* (24) Change to Yellow
R8: [All stitches will be worked into row 7 and will be in FLO] *2 Sc, Ch 4, Sc in 2nd Chain from hook and next 2 Chains, Sl St in base Chain of the Ch 4* – Repeat ** around. Sl St and FO, weaving in the end.
R9: In BLO of Row 7, join the burgundy yarn and Ch 1. Sc in same St and in each stitch across (in BLO) (24)
– The next rows will be worked in both loops as normal –
R10-23: *Sc* (24) Sl St and FO, leaving a tail to sew. We’ll stuff the arms during the final assembly tomorrow.
